Bobby Sherlock

Director
Bobby is part of the fabric of Stan Sherlock Associates, having worked in the business from when he was a teenager! Bobby’s Dad set up the business in 1989 when Bobby was just 6. In 2014 Bobby took the hotseat as Managing Director after his dad retired. His passion is creating great client outcomes, and he loves how much of a positive impact what he does can have on someone’s life. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his young family, outdoors wherever possible. Also taking on physical challenges that he’s not really sure he can complete!

Emma Sherlock

Director
Emma joined the SSA team in 2018 and learned the ropes as a Protection Adviser. Now, as a Director, she is all about client service! New and existing clients. It’s Emma’s job to make sure our client service is exceptional and that our adviser’s diaries are full to bursting with lovely clients. She is passionate about finding new ways to get our message out there so we can help even more people create a brilliant financial plan. When Emma is not at work she’s busy with her 3 gorgeous kids… watching sport, in the fells, or in her kitchen watching Bobby cook, with a large glass of red!

Deborah Riding

Head of Advice and Development and Financial Adviser
Deborah is our Head of Advice and Development and joined us in 2021. She comes with a wealth of knowledge and has 30 years experience in financial services. She loves helping clients achieve their financial goals from planning for retirement, saving for their futures or protecting their families. In addition to advising clients, Deborah also plays a key role in the training and development our staff, helping them reach their full potential and be the best advisers they can. When not working full time Deborah enjoys spending time with her family and friends, especially her four-legged friends - riding her horses and walking her dogs.

Arran Pamphilon

Financial Adviser
Arran joined the team in 2022 as a Financial Adviser and deals with all things pensions, investments and insurance. He is also currently studying towards his Chartered Adviser status. Originally from Penrith, Arran spent a number of years in the North East and London before relocating back to Cumbria during lockdown with his partner Freya. Arran enjoys getting into the nitty gritty with his clients helping them make sense and get the best from their existing arrangements, as well as plan for the future. Outside of work Arran is a keen sportsman and plays rugby for Penrith 1st team, when he is not injured! His favourite beer is Beavertown Neck Oil IPA.

Tom Graham

Senior Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Tom joined Stan Sherlock Associates in August 2013 as an administrator and has worked through the ranks to Senior Mortgage Adviser. He has expert knowledge of the mortgage and protection market and loves to help our clients with their home financing needs. Tom likes to take part in many sports, outdoor activities and country pursuits; but is transitioning to sports that aren’t as brutal on the body as rugby, like golf.  He enjoys spending time with friends and family in which his little boy keeps him on his toes.

Anne Preston

Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Anne started in financial services back in 1987 working for a large insurer and later moved to be an adviser putting into use everything she had learned over the years. She joined Stan Sherlock Associates in 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic! She loves being able to speak to clients and help them with their financial requirements.  Her free time is spent with her family travelling and going on holiday. She also enjoys going to shows and long walks as well as reading. Secretly she is an avid watcher of crime series.

Helen Bush

Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Helen is one of our Mortgage and Protection Advisers. She joined the firm in 2022 with more than 33 years experience in Financial Services. Throughout her career Helen has gained a wealth of experience, and uses it help a range of clients, all with varying needs. Helen offers a friendly, bespoke service, ensuring her advice is tailored to your needs, circumstances, and budget. She is passionate about protecting your mortgage and family.  Job satisfaction is what keeps her going and knowing she has done the best for her clients and their families.

Scott Thompson

Mortgage and Protection Advise
Scott started working with Stan Sherlock in April 2023 as a Satellite Mortgage and Protection Adviser. He works closely with one of our partner businesses, Hackney and Leigh, across offices in the South Lakeland area. Prior to this he had a 17-year career in Fitness and Wellbeing Management with a leading Healthcare Charity. In his spare time, he likes to be with his wife and children doing anything outdoors including mountain walking, paddleboarding, and outdoor swimming. He also loves to road bike with friends and will watch pretty much any sport going, much to the annoyance of his wife!

Chris Callow

Mortgage and Protection Adviser
Chris joined Stan Sherlock Associates in 2023 as a Mortgage and Protection adviser.  Previous to this role, Chris was a branch manager and valuer for a local estate agent and brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the home buying process to SSA.  Chris uses this knowledge to offer a tailored, stress-free solution to his clients’ mortgage and protection needs.

In his spare time Chris enjoys helping his father pre-training and schooling young racehorses, keeping fit, open water swimming and planning the next mini adventure with his partner Nicole.

Sandra Chadwick

Head of Business Support
Sandra is our Head of Business Support and has been with Stan Sherlock Associates since 1999... Our first ever employee! After 23 years of full-time service, Sandra is now part time looking after the business banking and accounts, and preparing reports for our investment clients. Sandra is always happy to help our clients and other team members whenever she can and has become known as our ‘office mum’. In her spare time, she loves to spend time with her family and spoiling her 2 grandchildren.

Daisy Graham

YBS Customer Consultant and Business Support Team
Daisy joined Stan Sherlock Associates in February 2023, looking to learn new skills and take on a new challenge. She secured a role in our Yorkshire Building and began her work as a Customer Consultant. Her desire for learning, proactive approach, and talent, quickly led her into an advising role, and now alongside her YBS duties she is also a General Insurance Specialist helping clients protect their homes. Daisy is one of the first faces to greet you when you arrive at SSA’s Carlisle office so be sure to say Hi!

Annette Hunter

Paraplanner
Annette joined Stan Sherlock Associates in December 2003 as a receptionist, then became part of the business support team for mortgages and protection. After 16 years, Annette joined our wealth team to support our clients and their advisers with their pensions and investments. Annette has an abundance of knowledge and experience in all areas of finance and loves being part of the client’s financial journey. She ensures all business goes through smoothly and as quickly as possible. In her spare time, she loves to socialise with her family and friends, enjoys reading a good book and going out for a walk.

Megan Cook

PA to the director
Megan is the PA to the Managing Director, Bobby Sherlock. She joined SSA in 2022. After leaving her teaching career behind, she was keen to get her teeth into something new and learn all about the world of financial advice. Working closely with Bobby allows her to work across all aspects of the business to achieve financial success for his clients. She is also in the process of becoming a qualified paraplanner, to further support SSA’s wealth clients. When not at work, Megan loves to spend time with her family, especially her niece and nephew, and socialising with friends.

Matt Duncan

Front Desk Manager and General Insurance Specialist
Matt joined Stan Sherlock Associates in July 2021 after achieving his BA Hons in Musical Theatre, the shift in career was unexpected but he welcomed the challenge and hasn’t looked back. Matt began his journey supervising the Yorkshire Building Society Agency which we operate on the ground floor of the SSA Office. He has since worked his way up to manager. He also started giving advice on General Insurance in addition to his managerial duties, another skill to add to his repertoire. Matt loves his job, his team, the culture, the vision and most importantly where we, as a company, are going.

Lucy Barker

Business Support Team
Lucy has been with the SSA Team since April 2022, and has spent that time embracing new skills and absorbing as much knowledge as possible. Having no previous knowledge in financial services, she welcomes new challenges and is eager to learn more. Coming from 4 years of retail experience she has fantastic customer service skills and is always on hand to help. In her free time she enjoys travelling to see new countries and cultures along with reading and spending time with family and friends.

Rachel Smithson

Head of HR
Rachel is our HR Manager. With 13+ years of HR experience Rachel joined the team in May of 2023, when we made the decision to move our HR provision in house to continue to drive our focus on the people agenda. Rachel knows that our people are at the heart of driving the SSA vision forward and she is passionate about helping every employee develop to reach their goals and potential. In her home life Rachel is kept busy with her 3 young sons and her adorable lab/collie cross Buzz.

Ebony Ritchie

Marketing Coordinator
Ebony joined our team in March 2024 as our Marketing Coordinator after a history of working in government relations. Born and raised in Cumbria, Ebony has a passion for all things creativity and marketing. She’s always looking for the next idea to help promote a business and is ready for any marketing challenge that may come so she can boost our analytics! When she’s not planning a new campaign, Ebony loves to be out in the lakes ticking some wainwrights off her list. And if the weather is nice, you’ll find her working on a new crochet project next to her partner’s coffee van the ‘drowsy goose’.

Kayleigh joined SSA in 2024 and discovered a new passion for mortgages and property. Having worked in finance previously, she was thrilled to be able to apply her experience to new scenarios. Kayleigh worked closely with our mortgage advisers ensuring our clients get a smooth and efficient service. Outside of work Kayleigh loved to spend time with her family and friends.
