What do you do at Stan Sherlock Associates?

I am a satellite financial planner based in the Ribble Valley covering areas such as Blackburn, Bolton, Preston, and Manchester. I provide holistic financial planning across all areas including mortgages, financial protection, pensions, investments.

Why did you become a mortgage and financial adviser?

I have always worked in financial services. I started out in Manchester when I was just 16 working for the Cooperative Group. As my career developed, I became an adviser and have been giving advice in North Lancashire for 15 years. I enjoy meeting new people, building relationships and helping clients create the financial future they want. I simplify what people perceive to be complicated providing them with peace of mind that they have appropriate planning in place.

What has surprised you the most about working in Financial Services?

That financial fear is real, people often put their head in the sand and don't know where to start. Many clients say I should have sorted this years ago, it was loads easier than I expected.

Would your family use the same three words?

My children would probably say strict, loving and fun.

If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs—such as food and water—were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?

A phone to keep in contact with my children and art materials to draw and paint.

If you could choose any superpower, what would you choose and why?

The ability to move time. As a single parent always rushing around it would be good to extend the day to get everything done.
