What do you do at Stan Sherlock Associates?

I am a mortgage and protection adviser helping clients by tailoring a bespoke solution unique to them in the home buying process.

What do you enjoy the most about being a Mortgage and Protection Adviser?

Sitting down and listening to clients' needs and desires and helping them to achieve their goals. Everyone is different and has their own set of circumstances. It's about being helpful, compassionate and knowledgeable while searching for a solution that best suits them. No two people are the same which means no two days are the same.

What has surprised you the most about working in Financial Services?

You don't know what you don't know. Everyone has a slightly different understanding of financial services and it surprises me where this information comes from for example generational, newspapers, magazines or social media and it is our job to fill in the missing gaps.

Describe yourself in 3 words?

Focused, calculated and empathetic.

Would your family use the same three words?

Expeditious was used but I think they were being polite for impatient.

If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs—such as food and water—were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?

Coffee, I do enjoy a cup of coffee first thing in the morning before the day starts… and a comprehensive encyclopaedia of everything.If I have plenty of time on the island I enjoy reading, learning new things and hopefully some of the knowledge will help me survive!

If you could choose any super power what would you choose and why?

To control time – this would enable me to spend more time with family and friends, pack more into the day and fast forward the boring bits like housework.

How can you help me?

Having previously worked as a property valuer and negotiator for an estate agent I understand what it is like on the other side of the table. Whether it's buying or selling I can help make sure you are prepared and organised throughout the process, from a financial perspective, to achieve your desired goals.
