Name:

Anne Preston

What do you do at Stan Sherlock Associates?

Mortgage, Protection and General Insurance Adviser.  I have been an adviser since 2012 but started in financial services in 1987.

Why did you become a mortgage and protection adviser?

I never intended to move into advice but the company I was working for at the time was making changes. The role of commercial adviser became available and it sounded interesting so I applied and was lucky. As time went on the role evolved and I started giving advice on general insurance, private medical insurance, protection and then taking my exams so I could advise on mortgages.  I soon realised that I love the job and the challenges it brings.  There's great joy meeting people and getting them into their dream home.

What has surprised you the most about working in Financial Services?

The whole of Financial Services seems like a large family! You can move 200 miles to another area and still find people you met at work years earlier… and they're always happy to help if needed.

Describe yourself in 3 words?

Friendly, organised, helpful

Would your family use the same three words?

No. Caring, trustworthy and organised

If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs—such as food and water—were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?

My Kindle so I can read all the books I want.

My phone so I can keep in touch with my family, take photos and carry on completing my family tree.

If you could choose any super power what would you choose and why?

The ability to go back in time. I would travel back in time to enjoy my family again. I look back and my daughters grew up so quickly, this time I would take the time to smell the roses.

How can you help me?

I enjoy getting to know my clients so I can ensure their needs are fully addressed. I like my clients to feel informed and take time to explain the process we need to go through. I am diligent and work hard to get the right results. I want a client to know they can rely on me at the time of recommendation but also in the future when their needs may change.
