What do you do at Stan Sherlock Associates?

I am one of three dedicated financial advisers with the firm. I have worked continuously in financial services since 1993 and as a full-time adviser since 2005.

Why did you become a financial adviser?

I have always enjoyed meeting people and sharing common experiences, couple that with my inquisitive nature, becoming a Financial Adviser seemed an obvious choice for a career. Over the years I have taken a great deal of satisfaction from helping people set out and achieve their financial goals or ensuring that families have got proper financial protection in place. There is an old saying that we have two ears/ one mouth, and it is something I have always taken on board to allow my clients to share their thoughts and wishes.

What has surprised you the most about working in Financial Services?

Short answer – People! When I meet new clients, you never know what to expect or what their aspirations may turn out to be. It is only through listening and engaging that you can develop the level of trust that is required to provide the proper service that our clients deserve.

Would your family use the same three words?

Hopefully!

If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island, but all your human needs—such as food and water—were taken care of, what two items would you want to have with you?

A top of the range sun lounger as I could be there for some time. A wind-up radio – so I can listen to Desert Island Discs obviously…

If you could choose any super power, what would you choose and why?

I would love to be able to see into the future for two reasons. Firstly, this would be a real benefit to my investment clients and like most people I wouldn't say no to being able to see a winning Lotto line!

How can you help me?

I will use my knowledge and expertise to address any financial concerns you may have and help you reach the financial goals you have for yourself or your family. This may mean creating a plan in order that you can retire early or enhance your income, save for your children's future, leave a legacy for your family and countless other aims. I will treat you as an individual recognising that everyone has their own unique circumstances and commit to using language that you fully understand avoiding unnecessary complex jargon.
